Why I’m Grateful We Cancelled Our Big Wedding

cancelled wedding

It was 2020 alright – do I have to explain why our wedding was cancelled!?

At the end of June 2020 we had to make the heartbreaking call to cancel our big September wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc on the world.

Though we were pretty devastated, we didn’t want to risk restrictions wrecking our plans come September, so we decided on making the call to opt for a small, intimate backyard celebration that would be okay no matter the restrictions.

So my two year engagement plan – the plan to have plenty of time to plan, organize and execute a beautiful wedding – became a two month stress ball to throw something together from scratch.

But, as I write this 3.5 months after the wedding, I can confidently say I have zero regrets on our decision.

Back in 2018 when we got engaged, we had no idea that taking a two year engagement would mean a whirlwind change of plans come 2020.

Price Is Right Baby Shower Game + Easy Decoration Idea!

Another year, another baby shower!

Last year around this time, I came up with some baby shower games for my sister’s shower (I can’t believe my nephew’s almost one!!).

A few weeks ago I threw a baby shower for my (future) sister-in-law and I thought a price is right game would be the perfect way to gift her a bunch of essentials, as well as add a fun game for everyone to play!

If you’re unfamiliar with Mr. Bob Barker, The Price is Right is a game show where contestants have to guess the prices of regular items, from barbecues to grocery items to sea-doos.

In this cute baby version, your guests have to guess the prices of common baby items! It’s a fun way to see who’s familiar with these impending costs, and who hasn’t got a clue how much a baby costs lol.
