Long time no talk! I haven’t been around these parts in quite some time, and there are a lot of reasons for that. Winter semester was a bit of a nightmare, schedule wise and mentally wise, so blogging was definitely not a top priority.
With summer beginning, that means full time work (plus online courses!) and being out of town every. single. weekend. Busy is a bit of an understatement.
But! May has been busy but tons of fun. A lot has happened this month and here’s a few of the highlights!
Monthly Memories | May 2018
First Week of May – Moving!
The first week of May was a whirlwind. We arrived home from Cuba on the 29th of April, and got keys to our new apartment on May 1st! Oh, did I mention we moved again!? That first week was a bit crazy, slowly moving stuff over bit by bit each day, but we’re getting settled.
We’re still in the same city – just moved to a different part of town and back to an apartment from a townhouse. We’re loving the area and I’m excited to make this place a home. This is our fourth move in three years, so we’re pretty seasoned at this point, lol. Second Week of May – Starting Work!
This week I started my summer job as a labourer! It’s great working outside for the summer months. The beginning of this week Justin and I also celebrated our 6th anniversary! It was a Monday, so we didn’t do much, but spent the evening out at dinner. He’s just my fave.
The first weekend in May was our second camping trip of the season (our first was in April – in the snow!). It was beautiful weather and a great time spent with family.
Third Week of May – My Birthday and Long Weekend!
This third week was the busiest! On Tuesday it was my 23rd birthday, which I spent at work in the heat lol. The evening was wonderful though, having a yummy dinner and attending the Eagles Concert! Justin gifted me a new camera for my birthday (a Nikon B500), which I’m so excited to put to use this summer!
The long weekend was at the end of this week, which we of course pulled out the trailer for a camping trip. It was a beautiful weekend, we celebrated my birthday, and a great time was had.
Fourth Week of May – Family Time and Zoo!
With a short work week, we headed out of town on the weekend to visit with family and celebrate my Grandma’s birthday. It’s so wonderful to spend time with family, I’m truly blessed with the best people to call my family.
On the Sunday Justin and I decided to spend the day at the zoo! I hadn’t been in a while and it’s one of my favorite things to do.
I tested out my new camera on this trip and I’m pretty impressed with the animal snaps I was able to get. This camera has an amazing zoom!
Overall May was super busy, with full time work starting again, online classes to chug through, and lots of travel. I’m excited for all the adventures the rest of the summer holds, and the amazing people I get to spend them with!
